Thanks
to alumni and friends like you, The University of Iowa successfully
concluded Good. Better. Best. Iowa: The Campaign to Advance
Our Great University—which ended on December 31, 2005—by
exceeding its $1 billion campaign goal!
We all should be proud that gifts to the UI College of Education
helped raise $21.4 million of this final $1.05 billion total.
Included in this $21.4 million is more than:
• $1.6 million for student aid
• $6.8 million for facilities
• $2.7 million for faculty
• $7.3 million for research and programs
As the above figures reveal, contributors’ investments
in the College can have far-reaching and transformative effects
for UI education students and faculty. This campaign generosity
has helped create new student scholarships; fund important
outreach services; support research and innovation; recruit
and retain the best UI faculty; enhance equipment and facilities,
including the College’s Belin-Blank Honors Center; and
develop outstanding leadership opportunities for students.
Now, with the campaign behind us, we must continue to look
to the future for ways to support the next generation of students
in the UI College of Education. You can help make a difference
not only for students in our college, but also for all those
whom our graduates will educate and inspire.
Whether you’re making a first gift for the College or
renewing your support, gifts and pledges of all sizes can
benefit our UI education students. I would welcome the opportunity
