Cost & Payment

Cost

There are two fees associated with SAR.

  • The first is the Application fee of $50. This is a non-refundable fee. If you are accepted into the program, the $50 will be applied to program fees.
  • The second is the SAR program fee of $4,025. This fee covers all room, board, materials, and admission to all regularly scheduled activities and is payable to the Belin-Blank Center.  It also includes the cost of 2 semester hours of credit from The University of Iowa.

Together, these fees total  $4,025. Students and their families will assume responsibility for transportation to and from The University of Iowa and incidental expenses, such as souvenirs and snacks. Consideration for financial aid will be made after the students are selected.  Need is typically determined by qualifying for free or reduced lunch.  Extended payment plans (for fees remaining after the application fee and first payment) are available by contacting the Belin-Blank Center at 319-335-6148.

Payment

Families have three options for payment of fees:

1. Pay the entire amount on a credit card.

2. Pay in four equal monthly installments using a credit card.

3. Set up an individualized payment plan.

Financial Aid

You may apply for a Wallace Grant for financial aid if you are selected for the program. Information, including parent(s)/guardian(s) salary, enrollment in free/reduced lunch, or other federal or state assistance programs will be collected at that time.  After your information has been reviewed, a decision will be made, and you will receive an email regarding the amount of your award.

H.B. and Jocelyn Wallace of Scottsdale, Arizona have been longtime supporters of the Belin-Blank Center. Their generous donation has enabled us to make grants available to students in our summer programs. The grants are for up to one-half the cost of the program and will be applied directly to the registration fees for the summer.
