ePortfolio™ Framework and Evaluation

The University of Iowa College of Education offers the ePortfolio™ framework as a model for Iowa schools. The Iowa ePortfolio™ model is a web based innovation consisting of three components:

1. Digital BackPack™
2. ePortfolio™
3. Cyber ToolBox™

Digital BackPacks™ are individual Web sites maintained for the purposeful and deliberate collection of materials from courses and field experiences.

ePortfolio™ is a marketing tool utilizing web technologies to demonstrate academic preparation and performance to faculty, employers, and assessors.

Cyber Toolbox™ is an evolving repository of Digital BackPack, ePortfolio, and self-selected professional items for career use.

The Evaluation Guide was developed by the Cedar Rapids Community School District. The University of Iowa College of Education obtained formal written permission from the Cedar Rapids Community School District to provide the Evaluation Guide found on this site for non-profit educational purposes. All Iowa schools may use this model digital tool to document compliance with Iowa licensure requirements. Further, each district may want to adapt the language in the Evaluation Guide to meet their specific needs. Any commercial use or sale of the Evaluation Guide may require a license from the Cedar Rapids Community School District.

If the Cedar Rapids Evaluation Guide is used in its entirety, the Cedar Rapids CSD should be credited.

This License will terminate immediately without notice from the University of Iowa Research Foundation if Customer fails to comply with any provision of this License. Upon termination, Customer must destroy all copies of Software. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Iowa excluding its conflicts of law rules. Software, including technical data, is subject to U.S. export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Act and its associated regulations, and may be subject to export or import regulations in other countries. Customer agrees to comply strictly with all such regulations and acknowledges that it has the responsibility to obtain licenses to export, re-export, or import Software.
