How to Register

If you are a current University of Iowa student:

If you were registered for the past semester or are registered for the current semester, you can register yourself for any of the courses on myUI.

If you are a current student but are not eligible to register for the current semester, please contact Continuing Education (dce-registration@uiowa.edu, 319-335-2575 or 800-272-6430); they will assist you in updating your record so you may proceed with registration.

If you are not a current University of Iowa student:

  1. First you will need to apply as a Graduate Continuing Education Distance student. There is no application fee. Visit: http://distance.uiowa.edu/continuing-education-non-degree and set up an account with Admissions. Log into Admissions (use the link above again) with your Email and Password and fill out the Continuing Education student application.
  2. Once you submit your application you will receive information on how to choose your Hawk ID and password. Please do that as quickly as possible. It is important for everyone to have a Hawk ID. You will use it to log into everything at The University of Iowa. Make sure to check your junk mail. This message often gets filtered for some reason.
  3. You should be admitted within 2-3 business days. At that time you may log into ISIS with your Hawk ID and password at: https://isis.uiowa.edu. Click on “Courses” in the yellow bar at the top. Make sure the session drop downlists the correct semester. Search by course number and enroll yourself in the course.
  4. Questions? Contact Melanie Ostmo at 319-335-0147 or melanie-ostmo@uiowa.edu. Note: If you have taken a course at The University of Iowa in the last 12 months you do not need to re-apply.
