Unit Letter

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian (s), March 12, 200x

During our next Social Studies unit, your child will be learning about how our government was formed, how it is currently structured, what is a right/responsibility of a citizen, what is the role of an active citizen, and why it is important to be an active citizen. It is important for our children to learn how our government is involved in their everyday lives and how to be an active citizen in the community to which they belong. The students of today are our future leaders.

In the next couple weeks we are going to create a bulletin about the many symbols of America. Students are encouraged to bring items from home that symbolize America; such as pictures of the Statue of Liberty, copies of money, pictures of military, items on the White House, bald eagle, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, or any thing else you can think of, would be appreciated.
